If this makes me weird, I´m fine with that

If this makes me weird, I´m fine with that

As a kid I was weird because I spent summers with my grandparents on the beach and not with my friends.

I was weird in kindergarten because I was too dark, too quiet, too skinny.

I was weird because I never wanted to play with dolls and babies.

I was weird because I spent all the time with boys playing in the mud.

I was weird because I hated shoes and wanted to walk around barefoot.

I was weird because I spent all my childhood with one friend.

I was weird because I cut my own hair short.

I was weird because my hair was always a different color.

I was weird because I had piercings and holes in my jeans.

I was weird because I painted my nails black.

I was weird because I didn´t want to drink or smoke.

I was weird because I was wearing whatever I wanted.

I was weird because I didn´t care much about impressing boys.

I was weird because boys were friends with me.

Today

I´m weird for loving animals.

I´m weird for not eating animals.

I´m weird because I hate plastic.

I´m weird for feeling good in my own skin.

I´m weird because I don´t mind spending time with myself.

I´m weird because I don´t want or need to have a lot of things.

I´m weird for fighting for justice.

I´m weird because I care about the environment.

I´m weird for still trying to do good.

I´m weird for thinking all of the above is pretty normal.

So, let´s see what will be weird tomorrow.

But one thing is sure: I won’t care and I´ll be OK.

Stay weird,

Mateja
