A pair of Belgians are using crowdfunding to start up a snowboard hostel on wheels that will go in search of the best snow possible in Europe next winter. Read on for all the details, and have a watch of their video presentation below.

AUSTIN, Texas— Tim and Val, who have explored the world as nomads for the last two years on a tiny budget, have announced their latest plan to bring the world of nomadic traveling to those who love mountains and powder snow.

Our roots were pulling on our hearts and dragging us towards the mountains where we left our souls in the powder snow

Starting this winter season (January 2015 – April 2015) they are launching The Nomads Bus, a 12-meter long American school bus that will be converted into a “hostel on wheels” to allow its travelers to hunt for the best snow in the European Alps. “You can enjoy a comfy bed, a warm wood stove, an equipped kitchen and a bathroom, all while always being parked where the snow is best. What else do you need?” Tim summed up.
Right now they are in the middle of their crowdfunding campaign, gathering the support of snow lovers who understand the meaning of adventure and the reason to live simply while pursuing the best snow in Austria, Switzerland or France.

The cost of the trip goes from 40€ a night to an all-in week for 649€. If you reserve your bed right now with an early bird discount, you can choose the actual date and location later. Those who are interested in joining the bus can check out available travel dates on the Nomads website: www.letsbenomads.com

Skiing and snowboarding being our biggest passion — combined with a Nomadic lifestyle— has created a dream that seemed too good to be true for every pow lover out there. Now it’s starting to become a reality and the good news is that you can be a part of this journey!

In order to make it as easy as possible for guests to get on the bus they have divided the European winter tour into three different pickup points. For Switzerland for example the pickup city will be Bern, where you can jump on the bus and drive to the resort with the best snow available in a 150km radius of Bern. Those who choose the “All-In Week” will be served delicious home-cooked meals and a skipass will be waiting for them upon arrival on the bus.

There are many different independent companies that have already agreed to back their adventure-hostel, such as: Love inc Snowboarding, Durkes, Ruffwear, Darn Tough, Templar Skis, Faction, Indris Skis, Roam & Seek, Sandbox, Brunotti, Bloom Outerwear, Stoked Boardshop, Whitelines, Misguided Fools, Syndicate and LN Beanies.
You can support this endeavor and give yourself something to look forward to all summer long, while getting a huge discount on one of the holiday packs, or you can support them by ordering a T-shirt with their “Let’s Be Nomad’s” logo that explains it all: Feel the heartbeat of the mountain!
